Thanksgiving
Jack and I hung around the house all day today and didn't get out of our pj's. Matt went down to San Jose to see his parents and Nonnie and Dardo. I can't believe Jack didn't turn into a whirling dervish and destroy the whole house. He's been really focused lately on putting things in other places so that occupies him for hours. Like taking all the pot lids out of the drawer under the oven and throwing them in the sink. Clang! Bang! Or taking allllll of his toys one at a time and throwing them in the trash. Which he technically shouldn't be able to get at. There's a baby lock on the door - actually, there are two but he learned how to open the first one within days and can now disassemble the whole thing so we had to put a different kind on - but he can open the door just enough to squeeze his little arm in there and get things in and out of the trash. Great. He's also big on taking all the shoes in the shoe rack by the door and all his coats hanging from the coat rack and throwing them over the baby gate that keeps him away from the cat's food. Which means his clothes end up in the kitty water and the cats can't get to their food. Yesterday I gave him his own paper bag to throw his toys into - which he did. And then he threw all the toys that were in the bag one at a time into the sink. Crash! Smash! Matt's favorite is when he throws heavy objects over the gate that guards the computer and they land on Matt's scanner. But I don't discourage this activity. He's learning to put things away - never mind they are the wrong things in the wrong places. He likes to help, which is sweet, and, like I said, it entertains him for hours.
Other than tossing things in the sink and pulling toys out of the trash we haven't been doing much lately, just our usual routine. Matt's been busy at work with the holiday rush and Jack just keeps getting busier with all his imaginary tasks. I've just about reached the end of my first trimester and I've got a lot of my energy back, so it's easier to keep up after him. I can't, however, say I feel noticeably better in the nausea department, but that will come.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
